Receiving donations and tips
Let your community support you with one-off payments. Stripe Connect required.
Donations are one-off payments from your community members to you, with no goods or services attached. Members hit a Support button on your profile and pick an amount.
Enabling donations
- Go to Creator dashboard β Business.
- Connect a Stripe account (or finish your onboarding if you've started).
- Once connected, your profile automatically shows a Support button to other signed-in users.
You can disable donations any time from Creator dashboard β Business β Donation settings.
How members donate
- They open your public profile at
/u/yourusername. - Click Support.
- They pick an amount, optionally add a message, and choose whether to be anonymous.
- Stripe Checkout handles payment. Money lands in your Stripe account, less the platform fee.
What you get
- The amount, less your platform fee and Stripe processing fees
- Donor name (or "Anonymous"), email, optional message β viewable in Business β Revenue β Donations
- Email notification per donation
What donations are NOT
- Not a subscription β one-off only. Use community subscriptions or creator plans for recurring.
- Not tax-deductible for donors. We don't issue charity receipts. (Check with your accountant β different jurisdictions treat tips differently.)
- Not refundable through the platform β issue refunds via your Stripe dashboard.
