Post views, video plays, and analytics

How view counters work, what they count, and where to find aggregate stats.

Every post on the feed has a view counter, and every post with a video has a play counter and total watch time. These are visible only to the post author and community admins.

What counts as a view

  • The post card was on screen for at least 2 seconds at 50%+ visibility, OR
  • The user opened the post detail (dialog on web, screen on mobile).

Each viewer is counted at most once per post per day. Your own views of your own posts are never counted.

What counts as a video play

  • One play per viewer per session β€” refreshing the post produces a new play.
  • Watch time counts only seconds the video is actively playing (pausing or seeking backward doesn't accrue).
  • A "completion" is when watched time reaches 80% of the video's duration β€” the same threshold YouTube uses.

Where to see aggregate stats

Go to Creator dashboard β†’ Communities β†’ Post analytics (the bar-chart icon on each community card). You'll see:

  • Total views, likes, plays, and watch time across the whole community
  • Top 50 posts sortable by views, plays, watch time, completion %, or newest
  • Per-post completion rate as a colored pill (green β‰₯ 70%, amber 40–70%, rose < 40%)
  • Unique viewers for video posts

Filter by time range (all time / 90d / 30d / 7d) to spot trends.

Privacy

Counts are aggregate β€” there's no "who watched my video" list. Community members don't see view counts on each other's posts; only the author and admins do.
