Millennium VibeSending direct messages (DMs)
1-on-1 private conversations with anyone you can see.
Direct messages (DMs) are 1-on-1 private chats. They're not tied to a specific community.
Starting a DM
Multiple ways:
- Go to Messages in the top nav → click New message → search for someone by name/username
- On any user's public profile, click the Chat button
- On a community member list or "Online now" widget, click their avatar
Features
- Real-time delivery via WebSocket
- Read receipts — the sender sees "Seen" after the recipient opens it
- Reactions on individual messages (emoji)
- Reply to specific messages with quoted context
- Unread badge on the sidebar shows pending conversations
