What pays out + when.
Commissions are paid when someone you referred completes a paid transaction on the platform.
What triggers a commission
- They sign up via your link β Signup conversion (informational, no payout)
- They buy a creator plan β Purchase conversion (payout per the program's rate)
- They subscribe to a paid community β Purchase conversion
- They buy a course or event ticket β Purchase conversion
- Their subscription renews (if recurring commissions are enabled on the program)
Commission rate
Set by platform admin. Common configurations: percentage (e.g. 20% of every purchase) or flat (e.g. $10 per signup). Some programs use tiered rates that scale with your number of referrals.
Attribution window
Once attributed, the link is permanent for that user (set via users.referredByAffiliateId). Every future purchase by that user credits you, forever.
